Ghana Nearshore Monitoring

Between 2012-2016 Shore performed multiple near shore bathymetric surveys on beaches in Ghana. Hereto, a duplicate jetski was built for the client and stored in Ghana, which allowed for quick response. If a favourable swell window appeared in the forecasts, Shore flew to Ghana with the modular single beam system to perform the requested survey

In a regular fieldtrip of a week, up to 20 kilometres of coastline could be surveyed in high resolution. The data was collected for the purpose of monitoring sand nourishments and coastal defences and was moreover used for planning of (dreding) activities, volume calculations and research to morphological development.
